Camille Leblanc-Bazinet on How CrossFit Helps Women Break Boundaries

This week, Reebok re-released the Reebok CrossFit Nano 4.

Although the most current model in this training shoe franchise is the Nano 8, the Nano 4 has been a fan favorite since it was first introduced in 2014. Now, enough social media comments later, we’ve brought it back to the market for a limited time!

The Nano 4 may have been gone a while, but many of the CrossFit Games athletes who wore it back then are the same athletes we still find ourselves cheering for today. In fact, the 2014 Fittest Woman on Earth Camille Leblanc-Bazinet – who won the Games while wearing the Nano 4 – just made her ninth appearance at the Games earlier this month.

In the video above, Leblanc-Bazinet reflects on what she’s seen CrossFit do for women at large over the last decade.

There’s something very feminine about working hard.

“It’s one of the first sports that right away everyone is equal,” she says, noting how the Games has given equal prize money and equal air time to its male and female athletes from the beginning.

But Leblanc-Bazinet sees CrossFit’s effects on women stemming beyond the Games.

“Step in the gym and every person is just one person training. The classes aren’t all girls and all guys.”

“There’s something very feminine about working hard.”

Watch the video above to hear the rest of Leblanc-Bazinet’s thoughts.
