Exclusive: A Conversation with Three Generations of CrossFit Games Athletes

One of the most unique aspects of the CrossFit community is that it brings together people of all ages. The Reebok CrossFit Games, which take place this week, are no exception.

The youngest competitors at the Games are just 14 and the oldest are over 60.

Before the competition commenced, we sat down with three women who span across three generations. All three will be vying to become the Fittest on Earth in their respective age divisions over the coming days.

At 17 years old, Haley Adams is entering her third and final year in the Games’ Teen Division. In the video above, she’s joined in conversation with four-time Games qualifier Chyna Cho, and Masters Division athlete Julie Ackermann, who is a proud mom of three.

While the age difference between these three spans nearly 30 years (Ackermann has a daughter Adams’ age), the benefits they’ve reaped from CrossFit are shockingly similar.

All three site CrossFit as having lifechanging affects on their self-esteem, confidence and body image.

They prove that no matter your age, women can find commonalities and shared values through CrossFit. Not many other activities can connect 14 year olds and 60 year olds in this way.

Watch the video above to hear the women discuss these commonalities first-hand.
