Games Athletes Can Lift Your Fridge

On Friday, CrossFit Games competitors were met with their first heavy lifting event of the week: A one rep max snatch.

Whether you’re a fan who watched the event in-person from the stands of the Alliant Energy Center or one of the many who found yourself screaming at the television while tuning in back home, your conclusion was likely the same: These athletes can lift a lot!

“I just felt ferocious out there,” said Ricky Garard, a rookie Games athlete who has been making quite the statement so far in the competition.  

But just how much does ‘a lot’ equate to in layman’s terms?

We did the math to find out!

CrossFit  claims that the functional fitness movements people do in the gym translate over to their day-to-day tasks outside of the box.

So, how many refrigerators can a person capable of a 200-lb. snatch lift overhead? Take a look below to find out.
